We have always had a friendly family atmosphere and cater for all ages from children to adults and all abilities from beginner to world class fighter.
The senior instructors and founders of the gym are Richard Smith and Lisa Houghton-Smith.
Richard is former 3x British, Commonwealth and European champion and has trained many World, European, National and International Champions in his 27 year career. He has travelled all over the world as a fighter and coach including Thailand, Japan, Russia, USA, Canada, Kazakstan, France, Holland, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Belgium and many others.
Richard won Leeds Sports federation Coach of the year in 2008 and was runner up in 2010. Bad Company was Club of the Year in the 2013 Awards He has over 20 years experience in coaching Muay Thai, and Strength and Conditioning.
Lisa is former British, European and 2x World Champion who competed is both Muay Thai and Womens boxing holding world no1 Rankings in both. She is a qualified PE teacher and fitness instructor and has experience fighting in Thailand, USA (both in Muay Thai and in Womens Boxing) and all over Europe.
There is also a stable of many other successful and well known fighters who help with the coaching at the gym. This includes:
Liam Harrison – UK no 1 and 3x World Champion who has fought many of the top fighters in the world at his weight including Sanchai (3x). Anuwat Kaewsamrit, Saggetdau, Namphon PK Stereo, Dzhabar Askerov, Duwao Kongudom, Andre Kulebin and many others.
Jordan Watson – UK no 1, 2x World Champion, Contender Asia Runner up, K1 Max UK Runner up, Contender UK Champion. Jordan has fought a who’s who of Muay Thai including Buakaw, Yodsenklai, Sittichai Sitsongpeenong, Aekpracha, Saiyok and Kye Hollenbeck to name but a few.
James France – World Champion.
Andy Howson – 3x World Champion, Intercontinental and European Champion – UK ranked no 1.
Davy Macintosh – World and Intercontinental Champion.
plus many other UK top 10 fighters.
There are classes specifically for children on Monday Nights from 6.00-7.00 PM and Wednesdays from 5.30-6.15, and beginners classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6.15-7.30.
Its not all about fighting and the majority of students at the gym who do not wish to compete. train for fitness, self defence and as a hobby in a friendly environment.
